The new V-Strom 1000 is a very capable adventure mount, but one look at the front of the engine and you can see why a quality skid plate is such an important addition. Right out there in the open just waiting to be dented or punctured by a mischievous rock or branch are the oil filter, exhaust and starter with the engine cases not far behind.

Our Happy Trails Products skid plate is designed specifically to fit the new V-Strom 1000. We use adventure proven 3/16 inch aluminum to provide critical protection for all key components at the front, sides, and of course bottom of the motor. All of our HTP skid plates are CNC cut, bent, and hand-welded at our factory in Boise, Idaho

• 3/16" aluminum plate which is 100% welded for maximum strength, not riveted together like some competitors

• Strategically placed vent holes for air flow to the oil cooler and lower engine while maintaining strength and protection

• Four mounting points for secure attachment. (2 frame, 2 crash bars)

• Skid Plate and center-stand are compatible

Fitment Note: Our skid plate requires the use of either OEM or our crash bars/engine guards for the front mount points.
