The new V-Strom 1000 is a very capable adventure mount, but one look at the front of the engine and you can see why a quality skid plate is such an important addition. Right out there in the open just waiting to be dented or punctured by a mischievous rock or branch are the oil filter, exhaust and starter with the engine cases not far behind.
Our Happy Trails Products skid plate is designed specifically to fit the new V-Strom 1000. We use adventure proven 3/16 inch aluminum to provide critical protection for all key components at the front, sides, and of course bottom of the motor. All of our HTP skid plates are CNC cut, bent, and hand-welded at our factory in Boise, Idaho black powder coat.

We are not sure.
Yes it will fit the 04 DL 1000, We don't have it listed due the plastic deflector you have to remove and our instructions don't cover that.
Our skid plate will support the weight of the bike if you are using the skid plate as a lift point.
Website has been updated to show the part you need.
Some people loosen the front clamps and then remove the rear bolts. This lets it swing down.
We don't have that picture for that bike. If you want to purchase one and have any issues we can work with and do a return if needed.
