HT PD Nerf Engine Guards BMW R1200/1250GSW (not GSW Adventure)

The Happy Trails Engine Guard provides enhanced protection compared to the OEM bars and other aftermarket solutions. We start with 1" high tensile strength DOM steel tubing and then shape the tube to protect the entire top of the cylinder instead of just the front. This gives a much higher level of protection from slow speed tip overs where the valve cover is likely to strike a rock or tree stump. We have also included protection for the radiators.

Our guards are mounted on the bike with HTP exclusive insert tabs designed to spread the force of an impact over a larger area, and in more severe cases bending the tabs before causing engine or frame damage. For additional rigidity, we also bolt the left and right sides together using a crossover tube.

Once fitted to the bike, the HTP insert tabs allow the guards to be fairly quickly removed and reinstalled for valve adjustments or other cylinder head service. Although the primary function is to provide engine protection, the bars also offer convenient mounting options for PD Nerf Horn Bags, auxiliary foot pegs and riding lights.
