Fitment note: This kit requires 4 holes to be drilled by the customer. This is because riders have different ideas about how to position the top plate relative to it's intended use.

Mounting Tip from Brendan: Loosened everything up as suggested, so the side plates had room to move, bolted everything up, and it works just fine, as described. Didn't even need to shift the brackets.
