Happy Trails KLR650 Skid Plate (pre 2022)

A quality skid plate is a must-have item for serious off road riding. Yet the KLR650 stock plastic skid plate does not protect the engine from large debris and direct contact with rocks and logs, part of every back country adventure. Our Happy Trails skid plate improves upon a basic proven skid plate design that we have been offering for over a decade.

Based on customer feedback, we have added more room between the engine and sides of the skid plate in addition to more adjustability to the fitment slots. These features make it easier to install and align on any model KLR. We have also increased the height of the sides to better protect the critical water pump housing and left case cover in the event of a slow speed tip over.

Since we can cut whatever shape holes we want, we also added a Doohickey Port on the left side for easy adjustment of the Doohickey, and the lower front air vents double as a bottle opener -- Hey, you asked for it, we did it!

The plate is hand-bent, fitted, and welded at our factory in Boise, Idaho before applying an ultra-stylish, durable Black powder coat finish that you really have to see to appreciate.
