Skid Plate You need a skid plate to bolt the Highway Pegs to the bike. If you don't already have one you can add it here.

Only Happy Trails makes highway pegs for the DR650SE.

They are made with a one-inch light-weight steel base tube and a loop of three-quarter inch light-weight tubular steel. The distance between the pegs is 19.25". They bolt to the skid plate only.

Riders now have more choice of riding positions and the engine side cases have more protection.

Note: These are universal highway pegs and will not necessarily line up with existing holes on your bike, requiring 2 holes to be drilled in the skid plate. Mounting bolts are included.

  • Would these pegs fit/work on a Suzuki DR-Z 400? It has a steel skid plate like that pictured.
Question by: David Jackson on 2016-06-21 17:32:00

We have installed  these on DrZ 400's before. Caution should be taken when mounting to insure there is no interference with the bike or other clearance issues..

  • Do the foot rests fold up and stay up? Is there an adjustment pensioner for the force required to move the foldable foot pegs?
Question by: Tim on 2016-02-03 00:06:00

The footpegs do have a tension that keeps them in the up position. This is part of the peg using the rubber on the peg and some special shims.

The peg comes with a rivet as the keeper. In the past when we welded the pegs on we removed the rivet and modified the mount then welded it. When we reassembled we used a 6mm bolt and nyloc and this was also used as a tensioner.
