The ultimate in KLR650 protection
Happy Trails exclusive PD (Paris Dakar) Nerf design for the ultimate in KLR650 protection. Loops of 5/8 inch tubular steel protect the expensive fuel tank and shrouds on your bike.
Included in the package is our exclusive fourth generation engine guard-highway peg combination (EG-4). The EG-4's one inch steel base tube adds additional support and provides highway pegs, giving the rider many more choices in riding positions for greater comfort mile after mile. The highway pegs provide bonus protection for the engine side cases, and they easily fold-up when not in use.
Important Note: The PD Nerf protection setup cannot be run with our reservoir / radiator guard assembly . Also note that they do not clear the shrouds of an IMS gas tank.
Weight: PD Nerf Uppers 7 lbs
Weight: EG-4 engine guard/highway peg combo 4.5 lbs.
Color: Black powder coat only.
Note: The EG4 is required for this installation, but you may opt out of the EG4 if you already have it.

The Tengai is a breed apart and the PD Nerfs, SU Rack, Sl Rack and other parts don't interchange with the "A" Model KLR.
Yes the TTH will work with the PD Nerf set up
The Tengai is a differnt bike when it comes to protection and luggage items. The Nerf Bars will not work on the Tengai.
If you have the Happy Trails Rad Gurd that two are not compatible. It is one or the other due to to the top bolts.
You could make a part and weld it on the existing hiway peg.
Check out the instructions and you will see that the part is a heavy duty sleeve. If you are buying the upper engine gurds we can supply the part for you to weld on the hiway peg.
This is what our listing states:
The PD Nerf Bars do not fit with the IMS tank; modifying them is impractical because of the resulting overall width. Click HERE to see the combination we offer for the IMS tank application.
I have always consider the IMS tank as protection since it eliminates the fairings.
The PD Nerf is not compatible with the 10 gal IMS. The IMS offers adquate protection so you really can ride without them.
The original plastic piece will not work, it is at best a gravel deflector and offers no protection to vulenrable engine cases.
We suggest that an aluminum skid palte be used to protect the investment
