Nothing is worse than getting stranded with a battery failure 20 miles from nowhere. Yet there are many reasons for possible battery failure. The battery might be weak to start with. Or maybe you find yourself in conditions you didn’t expect (like snow and 20° weather when you started out at 80°!) then the cold forces a failure. Dropping your bike can can mean a worn down battery as you try to clear a wet bike or get the bike started after flooding.
Some batteries provide enormous cranking power. Others, deep cycle reserve power. The revolutionary ODYSSEY® battery can deep cycle as well as provide enormous cranking power. The ODYSSEY® will provide short duration high amperage pulse or low rate long duration drains. It’s like having two batteries in one!
How is this possible? The answer begins with flat plates made of 99.99% pure virgin lead - not lead alloy. Pure lead plates can be made thinner, so more plates can fit in the battery. More ODYSSEY® battery plates mean more plate surface area. And that means more power – twice as much as conventional batteries.
Thanks to rugged construction and AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) design, ODYSSEY® batteries have an 8-12 year design life and a 3-10 year service life. Welded intercell connections enable it to withstand extreme vibration, and AGM design holds acid in place to prevent spills, even when installed on its side. And unlike conventional batteries, ODYSSEY batteries can be stored for up to 2 years and still be returned to full power.
Our exclusive Happy Trails ODYSSEY® Battery Kit consists of custom crafted positive and negative battery leads (includes additional bullet receptacle for accessory use), a non-conductive laminar battery cover, 24" of foam tape to ensure a tight fit, and complete install instructions.
Designed for the vertical installation of the ODYSSEY battery model PC545. We make two different kits: one for the '87-'07 KLR650 and one for the '08+ KLR650 as there are subtle differences in the cables for each bike.
