Fitment update: As you know Kawasaki made significant changes to the KLR650 in 2008. Beginning with the 2009 model some factory fresh bikes push the close tolerances inherent in all Happy Trails quality products. In order to resolve fitment issues stemming from bike-to-bike variances we have changed to a slotted front mount. All fitment issues have been resolved with this slight change. • I have an '08 KLR650 with a full set of your "old style" panniers on it. I recently wrecked it and am in need of at least one pannier. The panniers I have are the "old style" w/o the top lid lock and using a one piece gray plastic "hook" that engages the bottom bar on the rack. Can I order just the pannier/s w/o any holes in them and w/o the lid lock? I'm pretty handy and can easily mount my own panniers and do not need the lid locks.
Question by: Dwight Smith on 2017-10-06 00:39:00

You can order the pannier with no mounting holes. All lids come with the lid lock holes in them.

  • I have the old su style racks do your panniers mount up the same or when I order them how do I get them pre mounted for old style
Question by: Zack Rough on 2016-05-10 22:26:00

When you say "old style"  we need to be clear due to several versions of old style. If you can send a picture to [email protected] we can cofirm waht you need.

  • Are your aluminum paneirs detachable? EG if I go into a resturant could I quickly detach them and take them in with me and then just simply snap them back on?
Question by: Ryan on 2016-03-16 01:39:00

The panniers detach by opening the lid and undoing two knobs then lifting the pannier off the SU Rack.

You will find that it would be more convient to grab a bag out of the pannier and use the Lid Lock on the pannier to secure the pannier to the bike.
