Skid plates are a must for the serious woods or cross country rider, to protect the motorcycle from expensive frame and engine case damage. Our plates are constructed of 5/32" aircraft quality 5052-H-32 aluminum. They are attached to the frame with strong, reliable heat treated steel clamps. These plates are custom fitted to each model bike. All plates have openings to allow easy oil changes. These plates are designed to be compatible with centerstands. We offer our plate in either anodized aluminum bright or anodized black finish. Weight: 4.5 - 5.1 LBS.

NOTE!!!!
Our hardware kit includes all necessary hardware for the plate to be mounted on any KLR650. The basic KLR650 skid plate design for all years is the same. 1987-2007 model years do not require the spacer and two triangles provided in the kit. The 2008 > model years will use the complete kid provided, unless you have our EG3 highway pegs, in this case the triangles are not used.
