We consider this a must upgrade for all KLR650's.

The KLR650 has a rear subframe that is joined to the main front frame by two bolts on the top and two on the bottom. Properly torqued the stock bolts will withstand any and all shear forces. However, if the bolts become loose they will shear under weight, load and stress. We upgrade all of our KLRs with the 12.9 grade bolts included in this kit.

Note: The kit includes four (4 bolts). On the E series bikes (2008+) only two bolts are used to upgrade the lower subframe. This is because the factory increased the diameter of the upper bolts from 8mm to 10mm on the E models.
