Happy Trails has developed a unique protection product for the R1200GS boxer motor that we like to call … skidders. These custom designed devices are like small skid plates for your cylinders.

We craft the skidders out of the same adventure proven 3/16” aluminum as our skid plates and make them specifically to complement the stock OEM engine guards. Our skidders mount between the outer OEM engine guard tube and lower frame connection area to add much needed strength to these OEM “crash bars” in addition to protecting the lower cylinder head. This feature allows our lightweight skidders to replace the need for the heavy steel reinforcement bar many GS Adventure riders add to their OEM engine guard. The HTP skidders are precision cut, bent and hand welded at our factory in Boise, Idaho before receiving an attractive yet durable Silver Vein powder coat finish. This black/gray hammertone-style finish complements any GS color scheme and is the perfect companion to our HTP Skid Plate.
